Youth Theater Auditions

“Turn It Up!” Make-Up Auditions – Friday, April 24th at 5pm.

If you missed auditions for “Turn It Up”, you may still participate in our Summer production by attending a make-up audition this Friday, April 24th at 5:00pm.

Right after the make-up auditions we will have a parent meeting where we’ll quickly go over a description of the program and answer any questions at 6:00pm.

Address: Hoover Theater, 1635 Park Ave, San Jose, CA 95126.

This exciting multimedia production gives our cast members the opportunity to sing and dance on stage, appear in music videos and record a song in a professional recording studio!

If you would like to attend, please email Aaron at southbaycmt@gmail.com and include your child’s name and age.

Cost: The participation fee for our three month program is $370 per child (Includes $20 refundable costume deposit) $25 discount per sibling. The participation fee includes all rehearsal materials and a show t-shirt. In addition to the participation fee, families are responsible for purchasing dance shoes ($30) and selling tickets to the performances that take place at the Saratoga Civic Theater.

Friday rehearsals:
May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
June 5, 12, 19, 26
July 3, 10, 17, 24

Tech week and performances: July 26th – August 2nd.

How to prepare to audition:

1. Sign up online to attend auditions.

2. Please stop in during your age time slot and plan to stay for about an hour. If you have children in different age groups auditioning, they may audition together in the same time slot.

3. Please prepare to sing sixteen bars (around thirty seconds) of any song (without music). Select a dynamic song that really shows off your personality and pipes. If your child is not comfortable singing at auditions, we can have them skip the singing portion of the audition and recite “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to “Turn It Up!”

4. Bring a photo with you. A snapshot or print-out of a photo will help us remember you when it comes to casting.

5. Relax and get ready to have a lot of fun! We strive to make our program enjoyable and low pressure. SBCMT fosters diversity and inclusion and no experience is required.
